The Northern Cardinal is the state birb of 7 states throughout USA and certainly is a popular one! The distinct and vivid red variants of these vibrant birbs are actually the male, while the female is a more muted olive colour with hints of red. When in love, the male birb feeds seeds to the female by passing it to her beak-to-beak. How sweet!!
This is a painted Northern Cardinal (male) immortalised in sparkly resin. Looking closely, you can observe the feathery-fine strokes that gives it a fuzzy look despite its seemingly simple colouration. Set on a sparkly bejewelled pink base that has been sprinkled with iridescent glitter. Topped off with Swarovski crystals and assorted silver embellishments and acrylic flowers.
This birb shaker design came to life from paper sketch to acrylic blank, and finally to pouring my very own molds! Inspired by birds of the world, it is also currently exclusively available only at Lunaliliputian.
