The Blue Jay is native to Northern America and has a distinct bright blue plumage interrupted by black striped markings. A fun fact about this vibrant birb is that it likes hiding nuts for later, just like squirrels! It is also known to be noisy and flies slowly, making it easy prey to predatory birbs.
Here, we have a blue jay that can never be hunted as it has been immortalised into a lovely mini painting on Resin. Observe closely for the fine feather-strokes beneath the shimmery blue resin coat. The smooth blending of colours and layers of paint build up dimension and create a 3D effect in the piece.
The base has been lightly sprinkled with glow-in-the-dark powder which also sparkles iridescent in the light. Topped off with swarovski crystals and assorted silver embellishments on a light blue grip base.
This birb shaker design came to life from paper sketch to acrylic blank, and finally to pouring my very own molds! Inspired by birds of the world, it is also currently exclusively available only at Lunaliliputian.
