This is a member of the Cardinal family and both are identifiable by their fancy Zoro masks, but the Varied Bunting has a rather more punk rock style. As often is the case, the male birbs are the colourful reddish-purple ones, while the female is simply light brown. If you search images of the female, it is still very cute with a nice brown sugar milk tea type of shade. Buntings like to live in thorny, dessert areas, singing sweet notes about life in the drylands.
This is a painted Varied Bunting immortalised in sparkly silver resin. Looking closely, you can observe the feathery-fine strokes within the galaxy colours. Set on a sparkly bejewelled purple base that has been sprinkled with iridescent glitter. Topped off with Swarovski crystals and assorted silver embellishments and acrylic flowers.
